Well, hello there, kind folks. If you’re visiting this blog of mine, I presume that you have a certain interest in the cinema. As for me, even since my early childhood, I have had a deep love of everything related to movies and television. As far as I can remember, I have been more at ease in front of a screen than in the yard, outside, playing. It is a great way to travel, though other people’s stories, without having to foot any kind of steep bill. Over the years, I feel that movie-watching has even fuelled my own creativity.

All that being said, I welcome you in my Cinephile’s Nest. I hope you enjoy it here, feel free to come back at any time. Here you will find reviews of current movies and older ones. TV shows also. Some classics that have remained some of my favourites, some that have disappointed me. I will use a very basic star (*) system to grade them from 1 to 5 (5 being sliced bread level). Remember, these are just my tastes. I will try to explain in each review what I liked about these particular movies, without giving spoilers.

I welcome you all here, enjoy yourself.

The Wrong Missy (2020)

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Directed by: Tyler Spindel
Starring: David Spade, Lauren Lapkus, Nick Swardson
Running time: 90 minutes

Over the course of a few months, Tim Morris meets two different women named Melissa. The first one, met on a blind date, gives him a a trainwreck of an evening that he wants to forget. The second one, he met by chance at an airport, and they have an instant connection. Wanting a date for his work retreat to Hawaii, where he could be in line for a big promotion, Tim wants to invite the second Melissa to accompany him, so he sends a text. But he sends it to the wrong one.

I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit. Maybe it is because I went in with very low expectations, considering it is a Happy Madison production. Sometimes, these movies can be pretty silly. Sure, there is silliness in The Wrong Missy, but the premise is cool, the cast does good work delivering some funny material and the whole thing was entertaining and charming. The end was predictable, like it is for most romantic comedies, but the road there was fun. Cameos from people such as Roman Reigns and Vanilla Ice were also a nice treat.
