Directed by: Bennett Miller
Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, Clifton Collins Jr.
Running Time: 114 minutes
In 1959, author Truman Capote
becomes interested in the case of the murder of the Clutter family, on a Kansas
farm. He travels over to Kansas to talk to the local people, and he ends up
interviewing the two men accused of the murder, for what would become his
non-fiction novel titled In Cold Blood. Capote becomes overly emotionally
involved in the case of these two criminals.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was absolutely brilliant here. He brought Truman Capote back to life on screen, transforming himself quite magically. He carried that film on his back, though the supporting cast also did a good job. The film itself is well done. It is a great piece of art.
