In this first Netflix
comedy special of late comedian Ralphie May, the comic delivered a long raunchy
set in front of a crowd that was up for his brand of shenanigans. Here, May
talks about sex, about racism, about having kids and about many other topics.
I had heard about Ralphie May from a podcast, where another comedian was praising May’s work. So when I saw that special on Netflix, I decided to check it out. It took me a while to get into it, but, by the end, I enjoyed a good portion of it. There were a lot of good jokes, but a lot of weaker ones too. Since I am overweight myself, I would be allowed to make a trimming the fat joke regarding the material in this special, but, since May passed a few years later, I will refrain.
About that, it was bittersweet to see Ralphie May being joined on stage at the end by his wife and kids, since he would pass away a couple of years later, leaving them behind.
