This documentary looks at the life and career of singer and black activist
Sam Cooke. It also delves into the man’s impact of culture and his fight for
the cause of the treatment of black people in America. Finally, it deals with
Cooke’s tragic death, at age 33, shot by a hotel manager in Los Angeles,
California.
This is a very informative, albeit succinct, documentary about a very talented artist that left us way too soon. Just like with Cooke’s music, I would have taken more from this film.
