Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Directed by: Mike Newell
Cast: Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas
Running time: 117 minutes

While serving as best man in a wedding, Charles, an Englishman living in London, meets Carrie, a single American woman, with whom he spends the night. Over the course of three more weddings and a funeral, Carrie keeps crossing Charles’ path.

In this movie, once again, Hugh Grant plays…Hugh Grant: A good-natured and socially awkward guy who goes from relationship to relationship without settling down. He knows the kind of role well. Andie MacDowell and him have a pretty good chemistry on screen.

In my humble opinion, this film dragged on a little too long. There were some sweet moments and some very funny ones, like the first time Rowan Atkinson’s character officiates a wedding. This film is not without charm, but, overall, it just felt a little generic and forgettable to me.
