This film, adapted from the book
of the same name written by Neil Strauss and the four band members, covers the
story of rock band Motley Crüe, from what lead to their formation to their first
reunion following an argument with lead singer Vince Neil.
I have read the book and I was
excited when I heard that the movie was coming out. The Crüe have an
interesting story of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll times 1000 well worth telling.
I really wanted to dig this film. In the end, it was a letdown.
The story is cool and
entertaining, but way too many elements were omitted and I found the casting
deficient. The actors chosen really did not look like the Motley Crüe guys and
the film suffered for it. In the end, it all felt like a cheap puppet play
being put on where I could see all the strings. So, I was never fully pulled
into the story all the way through.
Honorable mention to the actor
chosen to play Ozzy Osbourne. Great choice. He pulled it off brilliantly.
